The EEPROM works under the earlier versions of SC.EXE, whereas other old
memory expansion adapters can fail to report on-adapter memory during POST.
I > think < the '92 version of SC.EXE can handle the non-EEPROM memory
expansion adapters correctly.
If you are dealing with the earlier systems with 32-bit slots like
the 8570 and 8580, the EEPROM version is reliable no matter the SC.EXE
version...
